Experience Advanced Hair Restoration

We offer the innovative NeoGraft hair transplant procedure, a cutting-edge solution for those seeking to restore a fuller, natural-looking head of hair. Artistic planning and precise technique are used to address hairline recession and thinning to create a natural appearance. Dr. Goldman and his team utilize follicular unit extraction with the Neograft device, which allows hair follicles to be removed without a long donor site scar.

What Is Neograft Hair Transplantation?

What Is Neograft Hair Transplantation?

NeoGraft stands out as one of the most advanced techniques in hair restoration, utilizing follicular unit extraction (FUE) to achieve exceptional results with minimal downtime. Hair follicles typically grow in natural groupings of 2-4 follicles, referred to as follicular units. Follicular units can be removed as a group, with a small punch or puncture. The individual follicles can then be separated and carefully transplanted as single follicles into recipient sites, like the hairline or the top of the head. The small donor site puncture wounds leave minimal pinpoint scars that are difficult for others to see in the vast majority of cases. This allows hair transplantation to be less conspicuous than with older techniques that involve a long, linear scar on the back of the head.

What to Expect with NeoGraft Hair Restoration

Before your NeoGraft procedure, you’ll have a thorough consultation with Dr. Goldman to discuss your hair restoration goals and assess your suitability for the procedure. During your consultation, our team will help address any concerns you may have, review your medical history, and set realistic expectations.

On the day of your procedure, you’ll be greeted by our professional team and prepared for the surgery. NeoGraft is a minimally invasive technique, so you’ll be awake throughout the procedure. The process involves local anesthesia supplemented with oral pain medicines and sedatives to optimize your comfort.

The NeoGraft device is used to perform follicular unit extraction from the donor area, usually the back of your head. The hair follicles from this area typically continue growing, without significant hair loss, for a person's entire life, making this an ideal donor site for follicular units. Older techniques involve cutting out a strip of hair from this area., which leaves a long scar that can be noticeable. Neograft involves removing follicular units with a punch technique, leaving minimal punctate scars that are not easily seen by others, even when the head is shaved.

Before and After: NeoGraft Hair Transplant Results

NeoGraft FAQs

After the procedure, you may experience mild swelling, redness, and some discomfort in the donor and recipient areas. Most individuals can resume work from home in less than a week. Most patients take 1 to 2 weeks off of work outside the home, depending on the type of work. Physical exercise can generally resume 2 weeks after the procedure, with more time off for swimming.

Initial results may be visible within a few months, but full results typically take 6 to 12 months as the transplanted hair follicles resume growth, after an initial period of stasis. Typically, a small percentage of follicles will not survive the transplantation process, despite gentle technique and proper postprocedure care. In a small percentage of patients, a large proportion of the hair follicles may not survive.

Successfully transplanted follicles should survive long-term, as long as the donor site follicles would have lasted in their original location. Ongoing hair loss with aging still occurs. This must be taken into account in designing the hair transplantation. Further natural hair loss may require subsequent FUE and transplantation in the future.

Common side effects include mild swelling, redness, and scabbing in the treated areas. These are temporary and usually resolve within a few days to weeks. As with any medical procedure, there is a risk of infection, but this is uncommon with proper aftercare.
