We’re proud to offer Emsculpt, an innovative body sculpting treatment designed to build muscle and reduce fat. Emsculpt utilizes high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) technology, a unique technology that uses magnetic impulses to stimulate muscle, helping improve muscle tone and definition without surgery.
Emsculpt is an office procedure with no down-time. It uses high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) technology: magnetic impulses that stimulate muscle contraction much faster than natural contractions, stimulating muscle development. Studies have also shown fat reduction over the muscles, although in Dr. Goldman’s opinion fat reduction is less than observed with Coolsculpting (which is why we often combine these treatments).
Emsculpt is non-invasive, requires no downtime, and allows patients to resume their daily activities immediately after the session. Over a series of treatments, Emsculpt can effectively enhance muscle definition, improve body contours, and provide a firmer, more sculpted appearance.
Your Emsculpt journey begins with an initial consultation, in which one of our advanced practice providers will review your medical history, discuss your goals, examine the areas of concern, answer your questions, and help determine whether you are a good candidate for the procedure. If you are, we develop a customized treatment plan for you.
The Emsculpt treatment session begins with you lying down comfortably while the Emsculpt applicators are placed on the targeted area, such as the abdomen, buttocks, or thighs. Magnetic pulses will cause your muscles to contract rapidly, typically creating a feeling of intense muscle contraction. The impulse strength can be increased as you get used to the intensity of contraction, to maximize benefit.
Each session typically lasts around 30 minutes. After the treatment, you may experience a feeling of muscle fatigue similar to what you’d feel after an intense workout, but you can resume normal activity, even exercise, the same day. Multiple treatment sessions are typically used to optimize benefits.
Emsculpt is commonly used to target the abdomen, buttocks, thighs, and arms. It’s effective for enhancing muscle definition and possibly reducing fat in these areas.
Most patients see noticeable results after a series of 4 to 6 treatments, spaced about a week apart. The exact number of sessions will vary depending on your individual goals and treatment areas.
Emsculpt is suitable for individuals who are already at a healthy weight but want to improve muscle tone and reduce stubborn fat in specific areas. It’s not intended for weight loss. For best results, patients should also be exercising regularly.
Yes, Emsculpt can be combined with other body contouring or aesthetic treatments to enhance your overall results. We commonly combine Emsculpt with CoolSculpting® to optimize muscle definition and body contouring together. Dr. Goldman’s team has extensive experience (more than almost any other office in the region) with non-surgical and surgical treatment options, including combining technologies and therapies for optimal results. At your initial consultation, our experienced, friendly, highly capable team will work with you to create a comprehensive treatment plan tailored to your needs and goals.
Emsculpt results are not considered permanent, they work best with ongoing exercise (especially anaerobic muscle workouts) and periodic retreatment to maintain results.
