On the day of the treatment, you'll arrive at our office, where you'll be provided with protective eyewear to shield your eyes from the laser light. To ensure your comfort, a topical numbing cream will be applied to the treatment areas about 30 minutes before the procedure.

During the HALO® treatment, typically experience a warm, prickly sensation as the tiny beams of laser light treat the skin. More aggressive treatments can feel a little ‘spicy,’ but this is minimized with topical anesthetic applied prior to treatment. No oral pain medicine is needed.
After the treatment, patients typically experience redness, swelling, and a sensation similar to a mild sunburn. These effects typically resolve within a few days. The skin usually has a rough texture or feel for a few days after treatment and may have a slightly darker appearance, like a sun tan. Your skin may flake as it heals, but does not typically peel. Improvement in texture and tone become apparent as the skin flakes and increases over the following weeks.
