Cellulite is a common but harmless skin condition characterized by lumps and dimples on the abdomen, buttocks, hips, and thighs. Approximately 90% of women are affected by cellulite at some point in their lives, and while cellulite does not pose a health risk, it’s an aesthetic concern for many. Fortunately, we are now offering a new and effective solution to cellulite with Avéli™ Cellulite Treatment.

What is Aveli Cellulite Treatment?

image of the Aveli treatmentAvéli™ is an FDA-approved, minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that reduces the appearance of cellulite. Using mechanical subcision and guided light under the skin, the Avéli™ device is able to precisely identify and release the septa bands that cause cellulite dimples.

Septa is described as connective bands of tissue that tether the upper layers of the skin to the layers below it. Over time, these bands can shrink and stiffen, leading to the skin dimpling we know as cellulite. By manually releasing these septa bands, we are able to create a smoothing effect and stimulate the production of collagen, resulting in a firmer appearance of the skin.

How Does Avéli™Work?

The Avéli™ Cellulite Treatment manually targets and breaks apart fibrous bands that cause skin dimpling, stimulating collagen production, improving blood circulation under the skin’s surface, and ultimately reducing cellulite.

When the Avéli™ device is guided under the skin, a small blade will get caught in the problematic septa and a blade will be manually released to cut the band. When the correct band is cut, the dimple is released immediately. This design doubles as a feedback mechanism, which differentiates it from other fibrous band-targeting procedures. When the tension is released, it indicates that the targeted septa have been cut. This allows for greater precision and enhanced results.

There is little to no down time for this treatment, with most patients returning to their normal activities within 24-48 hours (although it is recommended patients stay away from strenuous activities for a few days to a week post-procedure). Patients may experience mild pain such as tenderness, bruising, and swelling following their procedure, typically resolving within one month of treatment.

There may be small spots of firmness that aren’t painful or visible which take slightly longer to resolve, sometimes a couple of months. To speed up the recovery process, cushioned pads, compression leggings, and absorbent dressing may be used.
